What MCB for a 16kw max load cooker

Posted by Rose Findlay, on
Hi, I am wanting a Rangemaster professional deluxe 110 induction. I have a BG consumer unit. There is a 10mm cable to the cooker point and Rangemaster instruct to use a 45 amp fuse cooker box. What does the MCB need to be? the cooker is currently on a tube B 32 amp MCB is this enough? or do i need to use a type C 40 amp or 50 amp? BG do not make a 45 amp MCB.

This should only be carried out by a certified electrician as mcb selection would be down to cable size and length, this is notifiable work and would need certification as its a safety issue

Hi a 10 mm cable is the right size to for the cooker you are putting in I would advise going with a 50 amp Mcb I would need to know what the cooker is pulling at max capacity Hope this is of help Stuart wright
