How do I know if my cooker electric wiring is suitable for 30 amperage

Posted by Lorraine Pearman, on
I have just ordered a new cooker. It requires 30 amperage. We have checked the fuse box but don't know if the circuit is 30a. It is a hager fuse box and 32b is stamped on the cooker fuse switch. Does that mean it is 30A? Thanks

Hi, yes the 32b means it is a 32amp B type circuit breaker. That will be adequate for you cooker. It also should be Rcd protected at the main consumer unit and the cooker circuit at the kitchen end should have an independent switch to isolate the cooker. Regards Easy Electrical Care Shamshir
