Get a electrician to come look and charge the electrician who did the original job to put right, you shouldn't have to pay for something that's not done right

Hi if the work was done not to regulations etc you can contact the board he is approved by if he doesn't come back to rectify it

Also you state that your letting agent sent them to you, you may wish to contact them to enquire whether the electrician they sent to you was registered with NICEIC or similar recognised body, if not they may also have a responsibility to ensure that the work be rectified. If you're electrician is registered with NICEIC, then any work carried out by the Electrician is insurance backed and the NICEIC will have the electrician do this at no charge to you or allocate a competent electrician to do it, at no charge to you

I think the correct course of action is to give the original contractor the opportunity to put there work right If they fail to this then you would have to explain to them that action will be taken to get the work correctly finished this could ultimately be court action Take pictures and record all correspondence I would be very wary of getting someone else in and trying to claim the cost back as a first course of action It's usually best to talk things through with a contractor to try and resolve the issue without it escalating and costing every one time and money Good luck regards peter howell
