Should I pay for electrical fix

Posted by Shay Weller, on
I hired an electrician to upgrade my electric. One thing he did was replace an outlet with a gfci. He had problems with it at first then said it was good. A few days later After plugging in a vacuum it stopped working. He said there is a short somewhere now and can't find the junction box and for another 50 he will buy to outlet boxes that stick out from the wall and pigtail the two together (using a nearby outlet) Is he right that this isn't his fault that it is no longer working and I should pay for this "fix"

If there was already a problem there to start with and he’s not run new cable then yes you will need to pay as it’s nothing to do with him

What would you like to do now?
