16A Oven on 32A Hard Wiring?

Posted by Ikeoluwa Akintola, on
Hi, so I've been trying to purchase a new oven after my last one broke. We ordered one but when it was delivered, we were told that it was a 16A on a plug rather than the 32A that will be hard wired into the wall that we needed. We were then told that the plug could be cut and hard wired that way? But is is possible to use an oven that is on a lower amperage on the 32A wiring that we have? Thank you .

Hi If it’s a plug it’s limited to 13a You could do that but the 32a Mcb for that circuit would need fusing down to 16a Get an electrician to check n do this for you
