Correct cable for ceiling pendant lights

Hi again, I've bought some cable to renew nicotine stained flex for pendant lights - the flex that hangs down from ceiling rose. It's 2182Y 0.75mm2 6amp but says on packaging "appliances" - is it safe for plastic pendant lights? I've discovered 0.50 3amp no longer meets regs Just want to safe and sure! Richard
