Electricity in Garage

Posted by Gavin Jackson, on
We have a garage at the back of our garden, around 10-15 meters from the house. I would like to get power in the garage and a couple of lights on the outside of the garage. I wonder how feasible this is? Thanks

Hello Getting power to out buildings can be tricky. It would depend on where your consumer unit in your house is in relation to the garage. A steel wire armour cable needs to be run from your consumer unit to the garage. Then a small consumer unit could be installed in the garage to handle lights and sockets. If there is a path (outside or inside) then this quite easy. I would suggest a qualified electrician have a look. Most will do an initial survey for little or no cost. Geoff Edwards GJ Electrical
