Modifying a pull cord window mounted fan to work from a lightswitch

I’m looking for some advice. I recently had a window mounted GXC6 fan with pull cord operation installed in my bathroom window, Unfortunately the previous Xpelair fan (which is currently left hanging) was triggered from the light switch. The glazer claims the fan can easily be modified by an electrician to work from the light switch. Is this something you are aware of or would recommend or should I get the glazer to swap it out to another fan that works from the light switch by default before connecting up?
