Help advice, Please. Shower makes cooker electrics smell of fish.

Posted by Bev Williams, on
When we use the upstairs shower, there is a terrible smell of fish downstairs. We traced the smell to a double extension cooker socket. Though it’s obvious there has been overheating in one of the sockets,(I removed the plug which was used for my cooker ignition) there’s no sign of any faulty wiring & there is no smell when the cooker is switched on. We ran the shower to see if it still smelt with nothing in the faulty socket & it still does. We can’t understand what connection the shower has to the cooker & there is no smell from the fuse box, but it has made me wary to use either the shower or the cooker.
