Power socket

I had to clean the walls because of mould. I turned the power sockets off, but now they're not working. I checked the fuse box and the socket switched is off. Tried turning it on, but it turned straight off again, made a loud noise, and then there was a weird smell in the room, smoke like. What should I do?
