Advice on electrics

I have just found a green goo on my light sockets in the hall all are affected no other rooms have this issue as I have decorated the other rooms and they were fine. Should I firstly get an electrician in to check that all other sockets are safe? Also my other question is I assume these will need rewiring, I am hoping this one area only if the others are fine as I have had no other issues with these light sockets nor any others around the home. So will rewiring these only be ok?
