Hi there, The only way to know for certain is to hire someone like me to undergo a Full E.I.C.R (Electrical Installation Condition Report) These can typically take anywhere from 2 to 6 hours Then you will truly know the health of the whole system and go from there! If the consumer unit looks old then you would probably need to get a new one but I (or another competent person) would not know for certain until they had a look I hope this helps Steve @ Cleverspark
