Electrical

Posted by Ronald Moody, on
I want to install a tankless electric water heater for a bathroom. The device draws a maximum 66 watts and calls for #6 wire and a 70amp double pole breaker. I currently have a 50 gal electric water heater in this spot wired with # 8 wire. It is next to impossible to rewire this because of the house design. Can I leave the #6 wire in place and connect it to the 70 am breaker without out burning the house down? Im think that it is only running when we take showers or use the bathroom sinks or washing machine.
