Gas engineer connected new combi boiler to gas cooker circuit...

Is this ok and safe? We had a system boiler previously and it was replaced by the landlord by a combi boiler...but the gas engineer could not for some reason connect it to the old circuit.
Now the big red button that switches off the electrical supply for the gas cooker and oven also controls the boiler.
Should I ask the landlord to get an electrician to look it over or is this safe?
