Failing Halogen Lights

Posted by Jonathan Crispin, on
Hi there, We've just moved into a new house. The bedroom is partially lit by what I've found t be 10 Halogen "Ring" ceiling lights. The bulbs have a 12v, 20w rating. (although the sticker on the fitting says 10w max!) When I turn the light on they stay illuminated for a minute or so then flash a couple of times before extinguishing. I have checked in the loft space, they are clear of insulation and have reasonable ventillation. They are wired to a transformer in, I think, series, one after the other, but in 2 strings? One to the left and one to the right. I am guessing I need to replace the transformer and or bulbs but wanted to check with you so I get the right one, fearing the original is incorrect. I have photo'd it but amongst all the weird hieroglyphics it says Enlite. EN-SC60, - 20-60w/VA, Prim: 240v~50/60Hz, 0.26A Sec: 11.4V~eff, 5A What should I buy? Thanks in anticipation Jonathan
