I'm looking to rent out an office and having a look around there is a large amount of cable that is simply run along the wall and not channeled, is this okay under the new UK regulations? If it is okay as it doesn't need to be retrospectively changed, when a new socket is added does the entire ring need changing to meet regulations? I know the consumer unit doesn't meet the regs as it's plastic so needs changing, I'm just curious if it needs a rewire.
