Carpet on top of engineered wooden floor with acoustic underlay

I have a engineered wooden floor in my flat with high quality acoustic underlay to reduce airborne noise but the neighbors have complained multiple times for impact sound. I need to put carpet on top of wooden floor as part of terms of lease of estate. What is best way to go about it without damaging the wooden floor and keeping the aesthetics of house intact.
