Woodworms

Posted by bandar antabi, on
Hello, I am trying to determine if I have wood worms in my floorboards. Floorboards are a combination of old victorian boards that I have recycled and restored as well as some reclaimed floorboards I brought down from Manchester. These holes could have been in the boards before, but I did not notice them. I have not been able to find any traces of beetles or worms above the floorboards. Would these normally be visible to the human eye? Thank you,

I would strongly suggest you contact a flooring specialist. You have described the classic scenario of which i have come across countless times. regards Jeff ( Guild Flooring)

Hi it is unlikely you have woodworm it is probably an old infestation as the beetle like damp areas and if they have been reclaimed they have probably been stored somewhere dry also the only sign you would have is the frags which is the sawdust and waste from where they bore the holes although sometimes if the infestation is large you can sometimes see the moth on areas like window sills . Hope this helps alan
