Kitchen Floor - Laminated Floor separating and causing hole in floor

Posted by KATHLEEN MEACOCK, on
We had a laminated floor laid in our kitchen about 4 years ago and part of it is now lifting and separating causing a hole to form in the kitchen floor. It is happening by the kitchen door rather than in the middle of the room. What is the cause of this and is it fixable? Or do I need to consider the option of having a whole new floor laid? I have got pictures of the problem if any tradesmen need to see the problem before commenting. If so, please email me and I will forward the pictures to you. Thanks

Hi Kath your problem could be caused by a number of reasons I.e damp subfloor, spilt liquid ,inadequate expansion gaps left or it could just be a poor quality floor . I hope this helps. Many thanks alan
