Retiling a kitchen floor, should I use ceramic or laminate?

I am in the process of retiling my kitchen. It used to have ceramic tiles which have been removed leaving some adhesive which has been removed as best as possible. I am considering going for a laminate tiles. Could you advise as to which is better?
