How to even out uneven concrete floor?

Posted by Paula White, on
We have an extension on the back of our house (size approx 12ft x 12ft). There is currently a cheap laminate floor in situ which we are ripping up. We noticed that around 2ft from the patio doors at the back of huge house, the floor suddenly slopes up. The difference in level is approx 2.5-3cm from the side nearest to the house to the patio doors. The floor is concrete and it seems that even the skirting board was cut to allow for this sudden rise in huge flooring level. We want to lay carpeting but would like the floor evened out first - any suggestions of what the best way of doing this would be, and what sort of tradesman we would need? Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!

Hi Paula I would recomend to post a job on main website because some of a job needs to be seen before any advice is given. Our service is free of charge with no obligation quote and our tradesmans are happy to help with every aspects of jobs. I would strongly recomend to post a job on Rated People home page then 3 companies will get in touch then you would be able to choose the right person as you would receive an e mail with a link to tradesman account where you would see a pictures and you will read revious from previous customers. I hope this will help Best regards Rafal

Hi Paula. Your best bet is to advertise the job. Such things as chiselling without even seeing the floor may cause major issues. regards Jeff

If you can't chisel any concrete down you might be able to level out with levelling compound G. Branch plastering
