Bathroom floor tile grouting

Posted by Jamie Simpson, on
My grouting between my tiles in the bathroom has started cracking and chipping quite dramatically. Some of the tiles now move slightly when stepped on. What is the best way to solve this problem, completely regrout or just grout over the top? It has a plywood base which got wet due to a leak, this may not have helped things. Will this mean i have to replace the tiles?

Hi Jamie has the correct adhesive been used for the tiles? You need to use the correct flexible adhesive when fixing to ply. If the tiles are coming loose it all needs to come up and be re-done. Ed

Hi Jamie Unfortunately once you have movement in floor tiles you would have to take them up and if the ply is damaged it will all need re tiling. Martin

What would you like to do now?
