Creaking Stairs

How can we fix creaking stairs? We do not have access from the underneath and do not really want to replace the stairs

please post the job. tradesmen have to pay and unfortunately if we gave a remedy to every job, then we would all be out of work regards jeff

Remove carpet or equivalent and use some good quality wood screws to tighten the treds down, I have also heard of people using a non shrinking adhesive similar to a brand called grip fill, but don't know how well this works.
