Laminate or Wooden Flooring

Posted by Marion Jones, on
Is it possible to lay either laminate or wooden flooring if the existing floor is parquet on bare earth?

Hi Marion I would be very surprised if the parquet had been laid on bare earth as it's normally fixed to the sub floor with bitumen and it would not stick to the earth or have any stability! Are you sure you are correct? If the existing parquet is securely fixed and damp free then you should have no problems, if it isn't then you will need to sort the floor out first. Ed
