Floor levelling

Posted by Annabelle Knowles, on
I have a sloping floor in my utility room and would like to place washing machine and dryer in there. I think the floor would need to be built up to make it level (or at least the space for the appliances. What type of tradesman would carry out this work, or does anyone have any other ideas?

Hi Annabelle, First of all you need an electrician to fit two sockets, one for the washing machine and one for the dryer. Both of the sockets must have means of isolation close to the appliances if the sockets are inaccessible. The supply for these two appliances would be better to be on a separate circuit or wired in the same ring with the other kitchen appliances. After you have the power supply in place you need a carpenter or a floor layer to sort out the floor in the utility room. Regards, Cornelius Cretu
