Is solid wood flooring ok?

Posted by Orlaith Smith, on
Hoping to lay solid wood flooring in our living room. House was build in 2002 and on a slope so technically ground floor in question is approx 2m off exterior ground. Underneath the current carpet is chipboard. Can we lay solid flooring directly on this? Any advice would be appreciated. Note. There is some slight damp marks (currently dry) however these are directly at the patio doors so likely to be brought in from outside.

Yes you can lay on top chip board, made sure chip board is in good condition and has no movement before you start. You cab either use a porta nailer or do floating floor.
