Laminate on not level floor

I have tried fitting a laminate floor in my hallway.The floor is not level all the way through.Having real trouble.Probably 5 to 10 mm difference in places.Cannot use floor leveller as it would spill into bedrooms at one end.Should I just go for carpet?
