Laying carpet over what looks like a ceramic tiled floor.

I’m looking at moving to a bungalow with a very large kitchen diner/living space. I think the entire floor in tiles is too cold. Is it possible to lay carpet over half of the space without having to remove the tiles and level the floor? If so, is it just a case of tacking gripper rods around the outside, lay some underlay and then carpet over please? Thanks in advance
