Gardener rips off pensioner

Had a gardener to my mothers house today , did not do the work he said he would , took £250 in cash , never left a receipt and has become agressive and offensive on the phone. He responded to my ad on rated people and I want his full details - however the contact details on rated people are not the ones he's called me from. Please advise.
