Looking back at what you said you have several problems that are not connected and cannot be fixed by power flushing I think they are trying to make a bit of money out of you

If when your boiler tries to ignite it lights with a bang and your pilot goes out its because the burner is not lighting quick enough and the gas in building up in the chamber. The problem is it could build up enough before for it to explode. I'm not tring to be over the top but it is the serious. I cannot speak for what the other engineers have said or what their experience is but you have a major problem that need looking at. I would come and look for you but I'm based in the midlands
