Hi Rob so now we know what can cause a problem. Possibly your boiler is overheating that's wht is making noise and cut it self off

sorry chris crossed wires here the boiler normally works for a couple of hours then i get the cash bang sound from the bolier. this turns the pilot light off.

If water coming from overflow pipe it means that PRV is faulty and needs replacing not Power Flushing. They are trying to make some money on you I think
