I've had a tall, narrow vertical rad fitted and am unhappy that the copper pipework feeding it has been fitted so that it trails right on top of the carpet for 23cm at each side before going into the upward pipes (each another 23cm long). Plumber said he couldn't bury the pipework beneath the carpet because the wooden floorboard beneath the alcove where it is hung runs horizontally (rather than lengthwise towards it). He said something about joists and that there were no 'cuts' in the wood by which to lift it. Does this make sense to anyone as visually, it all looks ugly and bodged.
