Repair burst radiator

Posted by terry humphreys, on
Is it possible to repair a radiator that has burst? I have two rads that have holes in them that I've noww had to isolate and can ill afford to replace.

Hi Terry It is possible to have it welded or you can even silicone over it if it has pin holed. I have siliconed over a few pin hole scenarios and it has worked a treat. Best way to do it is isolate the valves to the radiator, drain the water out to below the damaged area and then layer on with thin layers of clear silicone. However, this is only a short term measure until you have the funds available to replace them. Hope the advice helps. Best of luck. Sam (eps)
