Boiler filling loop hose connected

Posted by faz azim, on
Hi, I have a Biasi m86/24s model boiler. I am no expert but from what I can see the flexible filling loop hose seems to be connected and has not been removed at all. I'm pretty sure it is a legal requirement to take it off right?

Faz. Sams right it's good practice to remove and cap off the loop. Some filing loops come with caps attached to the valve and non return valve on a piece of plastic, when filing the system is complete the loop is removed and the caps should be fitted(finger tights fine) Depending on where the loop is on the system it could be touched or disturbed indirectly. I've had this happen in an airing cupboard full of towels, some fell on the valve and the boiler over pressurised. When the boilers next serviced mention it to the engineer and don't worry it should be ok till then. Hope this helps. Robert.

Hi Faz It is good practice for the filling loop to be removed and the two fittings to be capped off to prevent them being tampered with. I would only remove the filling loop if you have the caps and washers to isolate the two isolation valves. However, it does no harm having the filling still on as long as it's not tampered with. Hope this helps. Sam (eps)

No it's not a legal requirement, What you should have is two non-return valves to stop the mains water from mixing with your heating water.
