Dear Sam We always recomend to post a job on main website because some of a job needs to be seen before any advice is given. Our service is free of charge with no obligation quote and our tradesmans are happy to help with every aspects of jobs. I would strongly recomend to post a job on Rated People home page then 3 companies will get in touch then you would be able to choose the right person as you would receive an e mail with a link to tradesman account where you would see a pictures and you will read revious from previous customers. I hope this will help Best regards Rafal

You got to turn both radiator valves off (turn clockwise - close, anticlockwise - open) . It would seal radiator from whole heating system. You would still have water ir radiator though. In case you want to remove this rad you got to empty it. Place bowl under one of the valves(put some rags on floor, there might be some drips to floor)partially undo the nut which connects valve to radiator until water starts dripping. To make it quicker you can open airvent. So,when bowl fills up close the nut, empty bowl and place under rad valve. Carry on this process until rad is empty. When its empty, fully undo both nuts connecting valves to radiator and remove radiator simply lift it up. Be carefull, there still will be small amount of dirty water in radiator.

close both rad valves at either end of the radiator (you will probably need an adjustable spanner on one side (lockshield) get a small bucket or something to collect the water and undo one of the nuts (doesn't matter which side) that connect the valves to the radiator and slowly drain off the radiator - you can hurry it up a bit by opening up the bleed vent . Should take about 5-10 mins to do it Make sure those rad valves are closed properly first though!! when the radiator is empty make sure you've got something over the floor like and old towel before you lift the rad off the wall or you can end up dripping corrosion sludge all over the place. Once off the wall, lift the open end over your bucket and get the rest of the water out. If its a big rad makes sure you have 2 people to lift it

Hi Sam, The best thing to do is get a qualified plumber to do it for you. In failing that you would have to switch off the boiler, find the drain for the central heating system and drain same, after 5 minutes open the bleed valve/airing point on the radiator in question in order to make sure you get the water out and wait for the water to stop coming out of the drain point. Disconnect flow & return and cut and cap same. Be careful when lifting off radiator as there is always a small amount of water left in it & it is usually really dirty. Thanks, Vinny
