We have had a gas fire recently capped off after an annual inspection. We are looking to replace the gas fire with a free standing multi fuel/ wood burning stove in the fireplace however apparently there is some kind of back box in the fire space - could be a back boiler (?) Do we need to have this removed before fitting a multi fuel fire? Loughborough.
