I would talk to the manufacturers and tell them what the gas engineer has determined it to be unsafe. They may have technical service people who can come out and have a look at it.

I have a problem with a Paragon Focus RS Gas Fire. It has been declared temporarily unsafe due to the apparent build up of gas within the unit. Initial engineer investigation (limited) did not conclude anthing more. What is this likely to caused by and is it repairable? Regulator? Valve? Other?
