Hi, it sounds like you have a blockage somewhere in your central heating system and the water is rising up the vent pipe and being discharged into the small expansion tank in the attic, then down the overflow pipe. You may need a new pump, some pipework cut out and replaced, followed by a good system clean and powerflush.
