Gas Boiler

Posted by John Dixon, on
My 4 bed detached house was built with a Flowmax double pump combination unit. The area has hard water and subsequently I had a water softener system installed. The present boiler is Ideal Classic and needs replacing. In my view the tank requires soft water to operate properly, but replacement gas boilers are not compatible (warranty wise) with soft water. Is there an available gas boiler which will run on soft water or should I be looking to have the system changed? And if so, to what? Every heating engineer who calls has a different opinion! Am very confused!
