Central Heating System

Posted by Barbara Rothberg, on
I had a a zone valve which conrolled the upstairs radiators in my house. This was activated by means of a switch located near to the boiler's timer. It all worked very well until I had a new boiler installed. The new engineer removed the switch in question informing me that it had been incorrectly wired in by the original installer. He said that "the earth cable had been used as a neutral so there was no earth to it". Consequently he removed the zone valve. I was very upset that this facility that I had was removed. Can you help me by telling me that this makes sense to you or not. I might add that this was carried out without my approval. What would be involved to have this reinstated?

Hi Barbara This is not a big job to rectify and unfortunately as it has been removed it would be hard to determine weather it was incorrectly wired
