Failed lockshield valve

Posted by Clare , on
I had my radiator disconnected to decorate. The lockshield was fully off. A few days after disconnecting, water started gushing from the part where the radiator connects to this valve. I have connected the rad back up. I know this means I need to replace the lockshield valve but is it urgent? There are no leaks since I connected the rad back up and presumably I’d only have issues if I disconnected it again?

When disconnecting a rad you need to turn the valves off at both ends of the rad otherwise water will continue to flow through the rad and out of the end you have disconnected there probably isn’t any thing wrong with the valve you turned off
