Is it a legal requirement to have trvs or a room thermostat?

Posted by Mark Stevenson, on
Hi We had a new extension built last year and it was signed off by Building Control. During the build we had a new combi boiler and new radiators fitted throughout the house. The previous radiators had thermostatic radiator valves on. The builder removed the whole radiator and valves and replaced but we now do not have any TRVs in the house. We also do not have a room thermostat. Is it a legal requirement under the Building Regulations to have one/both of these? If it is, what does everyone recommend we do ? Thanks

On a new system you need a room stat plus TRVs I’m all rads except the room where the stat is on existing systems you require a room stat plus TRVs preferably in all rooms but at least in the rooms that are slept in again no TRV required in the room where the stat is fitted Hope this helps
