Central heating timer

Posted by Dave Fox, on
Hi, I have a 2 channel grasslin towerchron qe2 central heating controller which is linked into a Rhino 90 combi boiler (approx 5year old). I think it has been adapted from a cold water tank system as it has a black cable coming from the boiler not connected to anything. Should this boiler have a single channel controller, if so can one be recommended and how would it be wired. Many thanks

Hi combi boilers usually only need single channel timer and room thermostat depending on how many zones you have, Twin channel timers will work fine when adapted. if you wish to change the timer a recommendation would be Drayton LP11 or you could switch to a smart thermostat eg Nest, this is a learning thermostat that allows you to set times and temperature. hope this helps
