In our basement there is a round duct pipe coming from the furnace that blows heat when the furnace is running but is open ended and does not connect to the large square ducting that supplies the heat registeres ... does it serve a purpose?
Is it supposed to be this way?
It seems a lot of heat is being directed to the basement without supplying the upstairs registers.
