Modern house (2005) loft conversion

Posted by Janette Mitchell, on
Just a quick query prior to posting for quotes - is it worth / is it possible doing a house loft conversion on a modern home? Everything I've read seems to be negative as the angle of roof is deemed shallow, and all point to a garage conversion as an easier option (also a possibility though but as it'll be a bedroom I'd rather it wasn't on the ground floor) Completed 2005 by Taylor Wimpey, 4 bed detached with a truss roof in the loft. Would the height be restrictive or likely to be ok for a bedroom only?

Hi Janette the type of truss roof used on modern houses is not suitable for loft conversions so the garage conversion would be the best option. Ed
