Should I remove, board or plaster over artex in bathroom

My bathroom has Artex on the walls and ceiling, what would be the best course of action. I plan to have half of the room tiled, can you plaster over it and then tile? Or would you need to board it. Or is it possible to tile straight onto the Artex?

Plastering over the Artex is normal behaviour now days . We apply PVA to walls which is glue then skim them ready for painting or tiling. Straight forward Mark crowley plastering
