if the walls are in good condition their no need to be skimming the walls because a thin coat of plaster will crack in a short time due to movement of old plaster the best thing to do is to paper the wall with a product call wall rock it a metre wide paper the strongest in it class will have to use ready mix paste you will never see a crack again thank you darbyinteriors
