We are having our late 19th century house re-rendered with a breathable render and have been given a quote also for external wall insulation (JUB system). We are concerned this may not cure the isolated areas of internal damp and cold walls, but in fact may exacerbate the problem. We appreciate it may make the house warmer but we dont want to make the damp situation worse. We have DG with vents which are permanently open, have some brick air vents on first floor, and currently have a wood burner, although we are decommissioning that and having chimney stacks and breasts removed. Any advice from professionals would be greatly appreciated. I have read a number of studies online and it seems there is currently no agreement! Thank you
