Should old wood cladding be stripped off before new pic cladding put on.

Depends on what condition the existing wood cladding is in. Providing its not rotten I would leave it in place as it also gives a good fixing the the new cladding. This will also reduce the cost of works. Ventilation caps can be fitted if required.
