Tiling

Posted by Pauline Whitehead, on
In a fully tiled bathroom, can the border tiles be removed and replaced with new ones leaving the main bathroom tiles in tact?

Hi Pauline, yes it is possible although a throughout assessment necessary as in most cases tiles come off together with back adhesive and chunks of plasterboard or render. This would be detail work and special attention must be paid in carefully removing grouting on border top and bottom, using a multicutter with specialist blade, however if the grouting is less than 3 mm there is a significant risk in damaging main tiles. Good luck.
